The newborn baby boy who was accidentally flushed down the toilet and heroically rescued in China on May 25, 2013 was released to his grandparents. Finally, a pleasant ending to a tragic ordeal. After spending days in the hospital for injuries sustained after being flushed down a sewage pipe (inhua city, Zhejiang province), the Chinese baby dubbed "Baby 59″ because of the number on his incubator is in the care of his mother's parents. The grandparents arrived at the Pujiang hospital in the Zhejiang province and took the infant to a rural location, according to the Daily Mail. The 22-year-old mother, whose name is not being released, is currently in the same hospital the infant was at for treatment. The mother claims that the baby accidentally fell into the toilet and she was the first to raise an alarm about the infant being stuck in the pipe.

Jumping from the top of the world. Nearly 60 years to the day after the first ascent up Mount Everest, Russian extreme sport star Valery Rozov (48) flew off the north face of Mount Everest - the world's highest BASE jump ever - 7220 meters (23,688ft) above sea level.

The ascent began on the Chinese side on the famous north route. It took him four days to climb from the base camp to the jumping location. At precisely 2:30 p.m. local time he leaped despite adverse weather conditions with temperatures -18 Celsius.

Because the cliff at the top was not very high, the initial moments of the leap in the rarified high altitude air were the most critical phase. Rozov needed more time than usual in the thin air to transition from freefall to flying. After that he flew for nearly a full minute at speeds of about 200 km/h (125 mph) along the north face before he landed safely on the Rongbuk glacier - at an altitude of 5,950 meters

A Message From Michele Bachmann
Has this blogger found proof of life on MarsWhile studying pictures of Mars sent back to Earth by the Curiosity rover, a Japanese alien-enthusiast spotted something between the endless plain of rocks spread out on the screen in front of him. Could it really be? Is that a… lizard?
The answer is almost definitely no, the surface of Mars being on the toxic side to most fauna (decide for yourself – it’s the first image, above). But that undoubted fact hasn’t stopped there being a slew of other “sightings”. The gallery above showcases some of our favourites.
Topping the list is the furry spiders from Mars (not David Bowie, ’fraid to say). Then “Martian face”, which looks like a chap buried up to his neck at the beach. The “finger” protruding from the ground is also another one that is either weird or, well, just a pebble. Then we come to the “footprint”, which looks so much like a rock with a light shone on it you wonder if all the enthusiasts need glasses. The final one on our list, and the one that sent a collective chill down the spine of The Independent, is the Martian yeti. Spooky.

Via ABC News and talked about during The Rush Limbaugh Radio Show these are 9 Simple Steps to Happiness. Interesting - what do you think?

Buy Some Bliss—ReallyFYI, you won't find it at the mall. "Purchasing things like televisions, clothes and coffee machines won't make you happier overall—but buying experiences maximizes happiness," says Michael Norton, PhD, associate professor of business administration at Harvard Business School and co-author of Happy Money: The Science of Smarter Spending. Research shows that people who purchased concert tickets, a series of crochet lessons or simply a Tuesday night dinner out were happier than those who spent their money on tangible goods.

Get OlderHappiness dips when women are about 40 and comes roaring back as they approach 50, finds a study of 500,000 women and men in 72 countries. (For men the slump typically hits at 52.) Scientists haven't yet explained the bliss boomerang, but anyone familiar with what it's like to make dinner, field five PTA calls and pay 2,300 bills in one night might have a theory. "Women in their 40s tend to put themselves last among all the demands they face," says Vivian Diller, PhD, a clinical psychologist in New York City. "They get squeezed between the challenges of raising kids and caring for their aging parents, and may feel that life is passing them by."

Forget Self-ImprovementBasking in what's already great about yourself is a more effective route to joy than trying to fix what's not, says Willibald Ruch, PhD, a professor of psychology at the University of Zurich who studies character strengths and happiness.

Make Tough Stuff WorkYes, even layoffs and broken bones can have silver linings. To use an extreme example, studies of women diagnosed with breast cancer found that the majority experienced numerous positive emotional changes, including new life priorities and more self-confidence—catalysts for happiness. "Not that we wish cancer on anyone, but it's often negative experiences that help us grow and learn, which is vital for being happy," says Sonja Lyubomirsky, PhD, professor of psychology at the University of California in Riverside and author of The Myths of Happiness. When upheaval strikes, she says, consider how you have improved as a result.

Spend 21 Minutes Focusing on Your RelationshipAs anyone who has argued with his or her spouse about tackling the pile of mail knows, a good marriage takes effort and time. How about 21 minutes a year? Researchers at Northwestern University tracked the marital bliss of 120 couples. Half of them did a seven-minute exercise three times a year in which they pondered three questions: (1) How would a neutral third party view your recent marital spat? (2) Going forward, what obstacles stand in your way of thinking like this third party during arguments? (3) How might you succeed at thinking like the third party during conflicts—and how would it help your relationship?

Try a TearjerkerMaybe watching The Notebook isn't most people's idea of a euphoric night in, but a study from Ohio State University finds that the more sadness people experienced during a movie, the greater their reported feelings of happiness were after the flick. Three-tissue movies put us in a thoughtful mood, says study author Silvia Knobloch-Westerwick, PhD, professor at Ohio State's School of Communications: "The sadness that you feel as a result of watching unfulfilled love, for instance, can spur you to think about your relationships—and appreciate what you have."

Love Your CommutePeople who walk or bike to the office may be happier than those who drive or take the bus, finds a 2012 study of 800 people in (where else?) Portland, Ore. The reasons are what you'd expect: You're in control of the timing, there's an endorphin rush from exercise and no traffic. But if you have to drive, you can still arrive at the office perky. "Commuting is actually a good time for built-in introspection and reflection," says Todd Kashdan, PhD, associate professor of psychology at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va.

Take Credit for GivingBy all means, donate to Doctors Without Borders. But consider doing closer-to-home good deeds, too: "While giving to charity brings more happiness than spending money on yourself, our research finds that doing things for people you know makes you happiest," Norton says. Gotta love the joy rush you get from the positive feedback.

Fake It Till You Feel ItWhen you're bummed out, the mere act of smiling can cheer you up. The reasons for this effect have yet to be pinpointed, but one study at the University of Kansas in Lawrence reveals that flashing a grin slows down your heart rate during stress and chills you out. And if you can't bear to smile? Sadness and the occasional bad mood are natural, too. No human can be happy 24/7, and maybe that's the happiest news of all.

Sharyl Attkisson - The CBS reporter, who has been reporting on the Benghazi and Fast Furious scandals, reveals to Chris Stigall Show that she may have people looking over her shoulder

Sharyl Attkisson Strange things have been happening to my computer since February 2011
A cub scout leader confronted terrorists just seconds after they had beheaded a soldier asking them to hand over their weapons and warning them: "It is only you versus many people, you are going to lose."
A mother-of-two described tonight how she put her own life on the line by trying to persuade the soldier's murderers to hand over their weapons. Cub scout leader Ingrid Loyau-Kennett selflessly engaged the terrorists in conversation and kept her nerve as one of them told her: "We want to start a war in London tonight." Mrs Loyau-Kennett, 48, from Cornwall, was one of the first people on the scene after the two Islamic extremists butchered a soldier in Woolwich, south east London.
She was photographed by onlookers confronting one of the attackers who was holding a bloodied knife.
Mrs Loyau-Kennett was a passenger on a number 53 bus which was travelling past the scene, and jumped off to check the soldier's pulse. "Being a cub leader I have my first aid so when I saw this guy on the floor I thought it was an accident then I saw the guy was dead and I could not feel any pulse.
"And then when I went up there was this black guy with a revolver and a kitchen knife, he had what looked like butcher's tools and he had a little axe, to cut the bones, and two large knives and he said 'move off the body'. "So I thought 'OK, I don't know what is going on here' and he was covered with blood. I thought I had better start talking to him before he starts attacking somebody else. I thought these people usually have a message so I said 'what do you want?'
"I asked him if he did it and he said yes and I said why? And he said because he has killed Muslim people in Muslim countries, he said he was a British soldier and I said really and he said 'I killed him because he killed Muslims and I am fed up with people killing Muslims in Afghanistan they have nothing to do there."
Moments earlier, the killers had hacked at the soldier "like a piece of meat", and when Mrs Loyau-Kennett arrived on the scene they were roaming John Wilson Street waiting for police to arrive so they could stage a final confrontation with them.

Tearjerker. 9 year old Alayna Adams threw out the first pitch before Thursday's Tampa Bay Rays-Boston Red Sox game, only to be surprised that the man in the catcher's mask would be her father who has been deployed in Afghanistan for the past year.

Her pitch bounced twice before rolling softly into a glove near home plate, a moment that began a reunion. Alayna Adams, 9, walked toward the batter's box with a casual pace before a voice over Tropicana Field's public-address system gave an introduction to remember.

"Catching today's ceremonial first pitch, fresh back from Afghanistan, please welcome Lt. Col. Will Adams!"

The father had removed his catcher's mask, and Alayna began a sprint toward his arms. The crowd's roar grew with each second.

Soon, there were images that showed the bond between father and child, the power of presence and renewed love: A giant hug at home plate; Will lifting Alayna into his arms; Will's wife, Dana, jogging from the mound after a meeting that became a surreal surprise.

The American system of higher education comprises some of the best universities, teachers, and students the world has ever seen. Millions of students around the globe want nothing more in their life than to attend an American university. However, many of America's colleges and universities today have serious academic, institutional, and other performance problems, and it is quickly approaching a crisis point, if it's not there already. Despite some excellent colleges and quality programs at many colleges, too much of higher education is wildly expensive. Students often graduate having learned little, or don't graduate at all. They are indoctrinated with liberal politics and subjected to all types of non-academic distractions. For these reasons, many students would be better served exploring other educational alternatives.
In IS COLLEGE WORTH IT?, William J. Bennett and David Wilezol assess the problems of American higher education at various levels, from runaway costs to inferior academics to poor graduation rates to political indoctrination, and propose serious reforms and alternative methods for improving higher education so that it better serves our students.

Breaking Now!  ABC News breaks a story that there have been at least 12 versions of Talking Points concerning the Benghazi Attacks.

Benghazi Attack Talking Points from CIA Edited by White House, Obama Administration

(ABC) It was the Benghazi attack ad the Republican National Committee created but never aired.
ABC News has obtained an ad the RNC made last fall and approved to air in the final weeks of the presidential campaign. The ad begins with a replay of Hillary Clinton's famous "3 a.m. phone call" commercial from the 2008 campaign and then cuts to video of the burning U.S. consulate in Benghazi Libya.
Over the images of the attack--in which four Americans were killed--words appear on the screen:
"The Call Came ... On September 12, 2012." As the screen goes black, the words continue: "Security Requests Denied. Four Americans Dead. And an Administration whose story is still changing. The Call Came."
The video of the Benghazi attack used in the ad includes the sound of gunfire and what appear to be voices of people speaking a foreign language as flames engulf the consulate.
A source familiar with the creation of the ad says the RNC leadership approved the ad but it was scrapped at the last minute because of objections from the Romney campaign, which was concerned the ad would distract from Romney's efforts to focus on the economy.
