U.S. Army veteran 'is found living in Vietnam village 44 YEARS after being shot down and presumed dead'... but his daughters refuse to take DNA tests to prove his identity
Sgt. John Hartley Robertson is believed to have died in 1968 over Laos during a special ops mission during the Vietnam War. A new documentary claims to have found him - aged 76 - still living there. This man, who remarried, has never contacted the American wife and two children who have believed him dead for 44 years. Doubts remain over his identity but his sister, who is filmed being reunited with him in the documentary, said she knows it is him

President Barack Obama suggested Tuesday he'd consider military action against Syria if it can be confirmed that President Bashar Assad's government used chemical weapons in the two-year-old civil war. At a White House news conference, the president also defended the FBI's work in monitoring the activities in recent years of one of the men accused in the deadly bombing at the Boston Marathon. In addition he took questions on health care, the closing of Guantanamo Bay detention center and immigration and also commented on the strength of NBA center Jason Collins for coming out as the first gay athlete in a major U.S. men's sports league.

On Fox News O'Reilly Factor Live Action's President Lila Rose talks about the undercover videos her group has published detailing abortions.

Lila Rose talks "Inhuman" investigation with Bill O'Reilly

Monday, April 29, 2013

Via Live Action News. Undercover video shot in New York City detailing the horrors of abortion. Their detailed Press Release tell the whole story:
Arlington, VA: Live Action today released an undercover video of an abortion counselor at a clinic in the Bronx, NY, describing, with gruesome details, what is done with a baby who survives an abortion attempt.  This is the first in a series of undercover videos, found at www.liveaction.org/inhuman, involving a number of late-term abortion clinics engaging in illegal and inhuman practices, as well as explaining in explicit detail what happens to the victims of late-term abortion. “Dr. Kermit Gosnell is not alone,” said Lila Rose, Founder and President of Live Action.  “The gruesome and inhuman practices exposed in Gosnell’s ‘House of Horrors’ are business as usual for the abortion industry in America.  These children’s lives are brutally destroyed when they are the most defenseless. This isn’t ‘choice’; this is murder.”
The Bronx, NY abortion counselor is caught on tape describing, in gruesomely precise terms, how late-term abortions happen.  She details what is done with a baby after the abortion and advises to “flush” the baby down the toilet if he or she is delivered at home before the final stage of the two- or three-day abortion procedure.
“If it comes out, then it comes out. Flush it. … if anything, you know, put it in a bag or something or somewhere and bring it to us.”
When Live Action’s undercover investigator asks what happens to the baby after the abortion – or what the clinic would do if, after the abortion, the baby is moving – the counselor says:
“If it did come out in one piece, it’s very small.  So they would still have to put it in a container – like, a jar – with solution and send it to the lab.”
When asked what happens if the baby after the abortion is breathing or twitching, the Bronx counselor responds:
“The solution will make it stop.  It’s not going to be moving around in the jar … that’s the whole purpose of the solution.”“It’ll automatically stop.  It won’t be able to…not with the solution.”
Rose is calling on NY state government and health officials and U.S. prosecutors to investigate the Bronx clinic and conduct a statewide investigation into other clinics that perform late-term abortions. From the letter to Health Commissioner Shah: “[W]e have reason to believe that abortionists and staff at the Dr. Emily Woman’s Health Center are operating under conditions that endanger women and children to the point of disease and even death. We therefore urge you to immediately revoke the license of this clinic. ” “These abortion clinics are abusing human life in unimaginable ways,” Rose said, “but our society has become so numb to what is going on behind their doors.  Babies born alive from a failed abortion should not be put in a jar of toxic solution, or flushed down a toilet.  How could anyone condone this kind of inhuman and brutal treatment of a helpless, innocent child?”

The Five notices similarities between Behghazi and Boston.  The Obama Administration bungled both.
Via MediaiteIs Boston the new Benghazi? That was message put forward Friday afternoon on Fox News’ The Five, less than two weeks after the devastating bombing at the Boston Marathon. During a discussion about the latest intelligence on the bombers’ motivation, co-host Andrea Tantarossaid the “parallels between Benghazi and Boston are pretty unbelievable.”The segment opened with Greg Gutfeld railing against the U.S. government for providing the Boston bombers “terror visas” because they are “fearful of accusations of profiling.” Gutfeld and his co-hosts went on to trash the Department of Justice for allowing the suspect in custody to be read his Miranda rights while the FBI was apparently still trying to question him under the public safety exception.
But the real bombshell came when Tantaros summed up what she felt is really going on with the Obama administration’s handling of the Boston case. Bringing up the “parallels between Benghazi and Boston,” she said “they bungled it leading up to both of these.” Extrapolating out her analogy, she added, “They blamed Benghazi on a video. This time they blamed it on misguided youth instead of saying radical Islam. Both are under ‘investigation’ so you can’t ask questions.” Finally, she said, with Benghazi, the Obama administration “blamed Romney.” Now, “they’re blaming the American people.”
Rest in Peace, dear Possum. Rest in Peace.

Cable TV Ratings.
4/23/13 - Rush Limbaugh shared the big news with his radio audience today that during the Boston bombing coverage last week, Fox News ranked number one among all cable networks, not just its news competitors. Becoming a media analyst for a few minutes, Limbaugh remarked how "fascinating" it is that a network can reach number one with less than 3 million viewers in primetime predicted what the ratings mean for the future of cable news.

Limbaugh relished the fact that in such a big news week, CNN only reached third place and MSNBC "dropped off the radar" and ended up at nineteenth place. He insisted that this was a momentous shift in the cable landscape because "CNN used to be the go-to network when any disaster or major breaking news occurred." But now that that doesn't appear to be the case anymore, he declared that "left-wing liberal cable news networks are dying."

Via Deadspin and Get On Hand.  These are the very first photos of the shootout between the Boston Marathon Bombers and the Police.

The First Photos of The Boston Suspects' Shootout with Police:

Andrew Kitzenberg lives on Laurel Street, in Watertown, Mass. On Friday morning, just before 1 a.m., he heard a series of pops from outside his window. The Boston Marathon bombing suspects, Tamarlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, were engaging in a wild shootout with police. Kitzenberg's Twitter account was essential reading that confusing night, and he's now published a series of photos taken from his window. Kitzenberg's pictures, shared on his website OnHand, are dark and blurry. They're also terrifying and illuminating, and answer a number of questions. This photo, and the one above, show the Tsarnaevs huddling behind the front of the SUV that they had hijacked earlier in the night. The car at the left also belonged to the suspects—they had arrived on Laurel Street separately, something first revealed on Saturday.

Expand
The shooters were also driving the green sedan on the left. They had the back passenger door open and were going back into the car where they had additional supplies (assumingly, more ammunition and explosives). They also had backpacks at their feet where they also had additional supplies.
The brothers were not facing a phalanx of cops. If it seemed weird that a 19-year-old could escape from a shootout and a massive manhunt, take a look at Kitzenberg's photo of what the Tsarnaevs were up against:
That looks like just two vehicles. And sure enough, on Sunday Watertown's police chief confirmed that police had surprised the suspects before having time to set up a cordon. "Quickly we had six Watertown police officers and two bad guys in a gunfight," he said.
In the photo below, Kitzenberg has circled a pressure cooker bomb that the suspects threw at police moments after the picture was taken.
Kitzenberg writes:
The use of this explosive created an enormous cloud of smoke that covered the entire street. While the street was still cloudy with smoke one of the brothers started running down the street towards the officers, while still engaging them in gunshots. As he got closer to the officers, within 10 -15 yards of them he was taken down. From my vantage point I did not see whether he was tackled to the ground or brought down by gunshots.
As Tamerlan Tsarnaev ran toward police, Dzhokhar got back in the SUV and drove directly at them. In this photo, Tamerlan is circled, lying in the street. The SUV accelerates toward him.
Kitzenberg does not confirm reports that Dzhokhar ran over his brother while escaping. He writes,
The SUV side swiped both cars taking out doors and windows and ultimately broke through the vehicle barricade and continued driving west on Laurel St.

Bombs Explode At Boston Marathon "Raw Footage"

It was a scene the Philadelphia District Attorney called "a house of horrors." A warning to readers, some of the details in this story are gruesome. West Philadelphia doctor Kermit Gosnell is on trial for running an abortion clinic in which he allegedly killed babies that had survived illegal, late-term abortions, and where a woman allegedly died of a botched pain-killer injection. "The evidence is certainly compelling," said The Philadelphia Inquirer's Joseph Slobodzian. Slobodzian has been in the courtroom every day of the trial. "There are any number of witnesses, most of them former employees of Dr. Gosnell's clinic, who say they saw late-term abortions being done, they saw fetuses, babies, that were moving, breathing after the procedure, and those babies were killed," said Slobodzian. Through all of this, Gosnell is maintaining his innocence, even saying that he was helping his community.

is easily Investors Business Daily.  IBD publishes easy-to-read and very informative editorials that show the obvious benefits of Capitalism and Free Markets.  A sampling:

National Security:  That North Korea can deliver nuclear ballistic missiles, as leaked intelligence reports, is about as shocking as Hitler invading Poland. We've been letting this threat grow for many years.

April 15 Having filed their 1040 forms, most Americans assume that they are done with government for the year. But they're not. Citizens won't be free of the government's hand for a few more days.

U.S. Postal Service:  It's the same old story. Congress gets its way on keeping Saturday delivery, further tying the hands of the management trying to keep the struggling mail system afloat.

Health Care:  As Democrats grow increasingly worried that ObamaCare will explode on the launch pad just as midterm elections get going, the Obama administration seeks to pin blame on Republicans. Good luck with that.

Entitlements:  The $5 billion fund set up by ObamaCare to cover new high-risk insurance pools in each state from pre-existing conditions is already running out of money — a full year before projections.

Media Bias:  A basketball coach who shoves and curses at his players merits constant coverage by a media also transfixed by Newtown. But a Philadelphia doctor on trial for murdering a woman and seven babies? It's ignored.

Fiscal Policy:  Shorn of its accounting gimmicks, the president's budget isn't a "balanced" plan to get the debt crisis under control. It's a monument to fiscal irresponsibility.

Letting viewers know that she was going to "spare you the awful details," Kelly welcomed Fox contributor Kirsten Powers and religious blogger Mollie Hemingway to offer their takes on why this has not been as big of a story as some people think it should be. Kelly noted that especially because she is currently six months pregnant, she did not want to discuss the details of the story. But, she admitted, "we in the media don't get to decide what the news is," adding, "I didn't want to discuss 20 dead 6-year-olds at Newtown, Connecticut either, but that was the news and we had no choice but to cover it."

He must have two Superheros living in his house! Jeff Smith of Lebanon, Oregon was using his 1949 tractor to pull a tree stump out of the ground when his foot slipped from the clutch, flipping the 3,000 pound vehicle over and onto his chest. Smith shouted for help and his teen daughters, Hannah Smith, 16 and Haylee Smith, 14, arrived then acted quickly trying to dig their father out. Haylee said, "I just cannot dig fast enough and I'm freaking out. So I just cannot dig fast enough."

The sisters called 911, but decided that there was not enough time to wait for the arrival of emergency services. So the two girls each braced themselves, grabbed a side of the tractor and lifted. After trying six or seven times, the teens were miraculously able to get the hefty vehicle to move. The grateful father recalled, "When they lifted it up enough where I could kinda basically shimmy my way out from underneath it, where I just had my arm pinned at that point it was such a relief." Neighbors with another tractor then finished the rescue.

Haylee said, "I don't even know how I lifted it. Like it was just so heavy. And I could feel it, I could just feel all the weight. But we just did it. We both did." Jeff Smith was later taken by ambulance to the local hospital where he was treated for a broken left wrist and compression wounds on his arm. Smith thanked his neighbors and his heroic daughters saying, "If these two hadn't have been here to hear me...They saved my life."

Fox News Sean Hannity devoted the entire hour on Monday to Black Conservatives. On Monday night's Hannity show, over two dozen black conservatives participated in a townhall discussion, addressing what it is like to be a black conservative in America. The show kicked off with Sean Hannity interviewing Dr. Ben Carson. Hannity asked Dr. Carson what kind of insults he has received since coming out publicly as a conservative. Carson noted: Some of the words cannot be used. It's really kind of sad. I feel more sorrowful for the people who do that, than I feel angry for them. I represent something that they just can't quite get their heads around: 'How can you be black and not march lock-step behind the [airquote] leaders?' 'How can you think for yourself?' 'And how can you actually have some ideals that actually make sense that don't agree with their leaders?' I am very hopeful that this a trend that will be broken. I'm going to continue to speak out. Of course, there is an old trick that you ostracize, you ridicule, you isolate, and you keep repeating.... I'm not sure it's going to work quite frankly because I don't plan on going anywhere.

Amazing editorial written by Nouri al-Maliki, the Iraqi Prime Minister on the 10th anniversary of the overthrow of Sadam Hussein.
Today, on the 10th anniversary of the overthrow of Saddam Hussein, the debate about whether it was worth it to topple the regime and the direction of the U.S.-Iraqi relationship is influenced by a pessimistic view that the United States has lost Iraq. Not true. Despite all the problems of the past decade, the overwhelming majority of Iraqis agree that we’re better off today than under Hussein’s brutal dictatorship.
Iraqis will remain grateful for the U.S. role and for the losses sustained by military and civilian personnel that contributed in ending Hussein’s rule. These losses pale by comparison, of course, to those sustained by the Iraqi people. Our government emerges from this experience determined to ensure that these sacrifices contribute to a future of freedom and prosperity for our country.
Our relationship with the United States did not end when U.S. troops departed. In December 2011, I stood with President Obama while he spoke of “a normal relationship” between the United States and “a sovereign, self-reliant and democratic Iraq.”
Iraq is building an inclusive political system, with free multiparty elections, a multiethnic government and an independent judiciary. Our gross domestic product is expected to grow by an average of at least 9.4 percent annually through 2016. Last year, we surpassed Iran to become OPEC’s second largest producer of crude oil.
Iraq is not a protectorate of the United States; it is a sovereign partner. Partners do not always agree, but they consider and respect each other’s views. In that spirit, we ask the United States to consider Iraq’s views on challenging issues, especially those of regional importance.
Iraq is developing an independent foreign policy. With no intention of repeating Hussein’s wars, we are committed to good relations with all our neighbors. We offer the hand of friendship to Jordan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Sharing a 376-mile border with Syria and a 906-mile border with Iran, we have a vital interest in stable, non-hostile relations with these countries, too.
In Syria, we can conceive of no scenario in which a military “victory” by either the government or the opposition can bring peace and stability. Only a negotiated solution can lead to such an outcome. Accordingly, we oppose all transfers of weapons, to both the government and the opposition, and we are working to ensure that our airspace and territory are not used for such transfers.
Further militarization of the conflict will only increase the suffering of civilians and strengthen radical groups, including our common enemy, al-Qaeda. We have been mystified by what appears to be the widespread belief in the United States that any outcome in Syria that removes President Bashar al-Assad from power will be better than the status quo. A Syria controlled in whole or part by al-Qaeda and its affiliates — an outcome that grows more likely by the day — would be more dangerous to both our countries than anything we’ve seen up to now. Americans should remember that an unintended consequence of arming insurgents in Afghanistan to fight the Soviets was turning the country over to the Taliban and al-Qaeda.
Iraq’s longest border is with Iran, and we don’t want a reprise of the war which left hundreds of thousands dead on both sides in the 1980s. We would like to see a Middle East without weapons of mass destruction, where governments are committed to development and cooperation rather than conflict and competition to obtain nuclear weapons. But as with Syria, we seek a peaceful resolution of this issue.
The peoples of Iraq and Iran share historic, cultural and religious ties. While we want our relationship with Iran to be stable, it will never be subservient. Iraq follows an independent foreign policy based on its distinct interests. This has been proved by our decision to sign the strategic framework agreement with the United States and our commitment to maintain a strong partnership with the United States on political, security and economic levels.
Our cooperation with the United States continues to bear fruit, and we hope to accelerate and energize it even more. While our journey from despotism to democracy has not been easy, the Arab Spring has shown that all countries going through such transitions face turmoil. The protests in several cities in Iraq reflect the fact that, while some sectarian elements call for violence, the majority of Iraqis want to express their demands through democratic means. With provincial elections this month and general elections next year, Iraqis can resolve their disagreements with ballots, not bullets.
With the world’s fifth-largest proven crude oil reserves and the region’s fastest-growing economy, Iraq is an important energy supplier and trading partner for the United States. With our needs for infrastructure to restore our electrical power and water supply, Iraq offers investment opportunities for U.S. companies.
The United States has not “lost” Iraq. Instead, in Iraq, the United States has found a partner for our shared strategic concerns and our common efforts on energy, economics and the promotion of peace and democracy.
